Chana Dal Appe Recipe: Preparing children’s tiffin often becomes a big challenge for parents. -Channa dal – 1 cup
-Green chilli – 1-2
-Ginger – 1 small piece
-Onion – 1
-Carrot – 1
-Curry leaves – 6-7 finely chopped
-Coriander leaves – 2 teaspoons finely chopped
-Capsicum – 1 finely chopped
-Salt – as per taste
-Oil – as per need

How to make Chana Dal Appe
1. First of all, wash chana dal thoroughly and soak it in water for 3-4 hours. This makes the lentils soft and easier to grind.
2. Remove extra water from soaked dal. Now put it in the mixer, add ginger and green chilli and prepare a smooth paste.
3. Take out the paste in a vessel. Add finely chopped onion, grated carrot, capsicum, curry leaves and coriander leaves to it. Now add salt as per taste.

4. Heat the appe pan or idli pan and pour some oil in each depression. Pour the prepared mixture into the pan, cover and cook until one side turns golden.
5. When one side becomes light golden, turn the appe and cook until the other side also becomes golden.
6. Your tasty and healthy chana dal appe is ready. You can serve them with green chutney or tomato sauce.

Tips and Variations
1. If children do not like spicy food, then reduce green chillies.
2. Cut carrots and capsicum into small pieces, making the appe easier to eat.
3. You can also freeze the appe and keep it. Later it can be heated and added to children’s tiffin.
4. It can be made more attractive for children by adding a little cheese or corn.
