Sanjay Gupta, a shopkeeper of Shiva Mishthan Bhandar, located at B.Ed College, Deoghar, told Local 18 that Jalebi is usually made from maida and pulses, which is eaten on normal days. But, on the day of Sawan Somwari, a fast is observed throughout Deoghar. Whether it is Kanwaria, who raised the slogan of “Bol Bomb” or the local people here, all like the potato jalebi.
Shopkeepers say that potatoes are boiled for one hour first. Then after boiling it is left to cool down. When it cools down, arrowroot is added to it to be a little crisp. A mixture of jalebi is prepared by mixing this boiled potato with arrowroot and milk. Then filtering in pure ghee and putting it in sugar syrup is made crisp and sweet jalebi.

Shopkeepers say that this Jalebi is not made throughout the year, but only on the occasion of Sawan and Mahashivaratri, Jalebi of this potato is made. It is sold at Rs 170 per kg. Those who do fruits on the day of Sawan Somwari, they take this potato jalebi home and make fruit.
