People consider Brokely as a boon for health. But very few people will know that what we consider to be a vegetable and eat it is not actually a vegetable but a flower.

Brassica Olecea is part of a plant, which belongs to the cabbage family (Brassicaceae). People consider it green vegetables, but in fact it is a flowering part of the plant. Dr. Ramesh Sharma, an agricultural expert from Jaipur, says, “Brokali’s green pieces, which we eat, are raw buds of flowers. If they are not broken, then they bloom in beautiful flowers of yellow color.” People are surprised to hear that what they had been eating as vegetable for years, it is actually a flower.
How did the vegetable become?
Brokely is broken before becoming a flower, so that its nutrition is maintained. If it is left on the plant, it turns into small yellow flowers, which are very attractive to look, but are not as tasty to eat. If it is allowed to bloom, it becomes hard and its taste changes. This is the reason that in the market we get broccoli in green and fresh form, which people consider to be vegetables.
