Essential Ingredients for Amritsari Chana Tikki

To make this recipe you need –

Half bowl soaked gram dal
4-5 boiled and mashed potatoes
2-3 chopped green chillies
1 teaspoon ground ginger
14-15 cashew pieces
1 tablespoon corn flour
A little asafoetida, salt, celery and red chili powder
Some chaat masala and cumin powder
Coriander chutney, sweet chutney, curd and chopped onion to top.

How to make Chana Tikki
– First of all, heat some oil in a pan and fry the cashews in it until they become light golden. When the cashews cool down, cut them into small pieces. Now add green chilli and ginger paste to it and mix well.

After this, take soaked gram dal in a bowl and add this Cashew-Chilli-Ginger Add the mixture. Add asafoetida, salt, red chilli, cumin powder and chaat masala as per taste. Mix it well and keep it aside for some time.

Now put mashed potatoes in another bowl and add one tablespoon of corn flour in it. Add some salt and celery to taste. Now add two bread pieces soaked in water and mix well, so that the mixture remains bound while making tikkis.

Now make small tikkis of this potato mixture and fill a little gram-lentil-cashew mixture in the middle. Then close the tikki in a round shape. Prepare all the tikkis in the same manner.

Frying and serving process
Now heat oil in a pan and fry the tikkis on medium flame until they become golden and crispy. Cook them well from both the sides so that they remain crisp from outside and soft from inside.
