Often people throw away its flowers after breaking the banana. But in Jharkhand, many types of dishes are made from it. In the month of monsoon, dumplings are prepared in Jharkhand with its flowers, which people like very much.

In the month of monsoon, when a relative comes to the house, this dish is served with tea and sharp chutney in front of the guests.

On this subject, Halwai Mohan Murari of Shri Ram Sweets of Hazaribagh says that the recipe for making pakoda with banana flowers is a bit difficult and hard work, but its taste is equally wonderful.

He further explained that to make it, first of all, the outer hard leaves of the flower are peeled and the soft buds within it are taken out.

He further explained that these buds have mild sterilization, so they are soaked in lukewarm water mixed with turmeric and salt, it enhances the taste.

He further explained that after this, a thick solution is prepared by adding salt, turmeric, cumin, onion, green chillies and coriander leaves to the gram flour. Many people also get rice flour in it, it makes dumplings crisp.

Mohan Murari further states that in this solution, flower buds are mixed and kept for a while so that the taste of the spices is well absorbed in them. At the same time, after adding hot oil to the pan, frying is started by adding small parts of the mixture. The heat is kept medium so that the pakoras become crisp from outside and soft from inside.

When they turn golden brown, they are taken out and served with hot tea, green chutney or tomato chutney. Banana flower pakora is very nutritious and also tasty to eat.
