1. Potato Pakodas (Aloo ke Pakode)-

Material:

  • Potatoes – 3 (cut into thin slices)
  • Gram flour – 1 cup
  • Celery – ¼ tsp
  • Turmeric, red chilli – as per taste
  • Oil – for frying

Method:
First of all, add all the spices in gram flour and prepare a medium thick batter by adding water. Now dip the potato slices in it and fry in hot oil until they become golden and crisp. Take out the prepared pakodas on paper towel and serve with curd or coriander chutney.

Material:

  • Spinach leaves – 10-12
  • Gram flour – 1 cup
  • Turmeric, red chilli – as per taste
  • Rock salt (for fasting)

Method:
Wash and dry the spinach leaves thoroughly. Prepare gram flour batter and dip the leaves in it and fry in hot oil. Fry them until they become slightly crisp. Serve hot spinach pakodas with tea or prasad.

3.Agastya Phool ke Pakode-

Material:

  • August Flowers – 10-12
  • Gram flour – 1 cup
  • Turmeric – ¼ tsp
  • Red chilli – ¼ tsp
  • Salt – as per taste

Method:
Wash the flowers thoroughly and soak them in lightly salted water for 5 minutes to remove the bitterness. Then add spices to gram flour and make a thick batter. Now dip each flower in the batter and fry in hot oil until it turns golden. These pakodas look crunchy from outside and soft from inside.

4.Kohda ke Phool ke Pakode-

Material:

  • Konhra (pumpkin) flowers – 8-10
  • Gram flour – 1 cup
  • Rice flour – 2 tbsp
  • Turmeric, red chilli – as per taste
  • Salt – as per taste

Method:
Clean the flowers and remove the pollen from the middle. Prepare the batter by mixing gram flour, rice flour and spices. Now dip the flowers in the batter and fry in hot oil until they turn golden brown. These pakodas are an important part of Chhath Prasad.

5.Pumpkin Pakodas-

Material:

  • Pumpkin – 250 grams (cut into thin slices)
  • Gram flour – 1 cup
  • Turmeric – ¼ tsp
  • Red chilli – ½ tsp
  • Rice flour – 1 tablespoon
  • Salt – as per taste

Method:
Mix gram flour and rice flour and add spices to it. Prepare a thick batter by adding water little by little. Dip pumpkin slices in it and fry until golden. Crunchy pumpkin pakodas add special flavor to the Chhath Puja meal.
