Recipe to make coconut chutney for fasting
Material:
- Fresh coconut – 1 cup (grated)
- Green chilli – 1 (as per taste)
- Ginger – ½ inch piece
- Rock salt – as per taste
- Curd – 2 spoons (optional, to enhance taste)
- Water – as per requirement
- Coriander leaves – a little
Method:
- First of all, add coconut, green chilli, ginger and some water in the mixer.
- Grind them well until a smooth paste is formed.
- Now add rock salt and curd to it. Mix lightly again.
- If desired, garnish with coriander leaves.
This chutney is ready to serve immediately. It can be served with dosa, samak rice, sabudana tikki or other vrat dishes.
Change from normal chutney to fast chutney
Use rock salt instead of normal salt during fasting. Avoid giving tadka or if tadka is acceptable during fast then you can give light tadka of cumin and curry leaves in ghee. Lemon juice can also be used instead of curd.
