Selaroti Traditional Dish of Nepal: Uttarakhand has also been discussed for delicious dishes with its litigants and mountains. Here you can also taste the traditional food of Nepal. Celoty is not, bread, but looks like round rings. To make it, the first oil is heated by adding oil to the pan. Before adding the prepared butter, a glass or bowl is placed on the pan so that it gets a round shape.

Kiran Thapa, a resident of Dehradun, says that Selroti is a traditional dish of Nepal, which is not only a food item but has become the identity of Nepali culture, tradition. It is a round shaped, light sweet and rice dish, which is made and eaten on special Teej-festivals and auspicious occasions.

Kiran says that Cellrooty is made in a traditional way, which is taught generation to generation. We have also learned from our mother. It cannot be made everyone, because practice is required. Rice, sugar or jaggery, ghee, oil, cardamom and cloves like spices (optional) are required to make it.

To make it, the rice is first soaked in water for at least 4-5 hours or all night. Later, they are taken out of the water and the light coarsely is grounded. It is mixed well by adding sugar, melted ghee and spices. A thick butter is prepared with the help of water or milk.

According to Kiran Thapa, now ghee or oil is heated in a deep pan. When the oil becomes medium hot, with the help of a small pot, the solution is put in a thin edge and rotating it in a hot oil. A heavy pot is placed in the middle of it so that the cell can take the shape of the ring.

Once golden, it is eaten with potato-til chutney, curd or tea. One of its specialty is that it can be stored for several days at normal temperatures. Goddess Lakshmi is also offered as offerings in Diwali and Puja. The gods are also its admirers.
