Many decade-old small shops in the streets of the boundary wall of Jaipur are still cherished by their special flavors. One such hideout is the path of ghee people in Johari market, where Shri Ram Chaat Bhandar is located. Since 1950, delicious dishes like Tikia Chaat, Papdi Chaat, Ghevar Chaat and Gujiya Chaat have been available at this shop. As soon as you enter this street, the fragrance of spicy spices automatically draws you towards the shop.

When the team of local-18 reached Shri Ram Chaat Bhandar, the owner of the shop Bhanwarlal Saini told that the foundation of this shop was laid by his grandfather Bijrilal Saini. He came to Jaipur in search of employment from a small village in Jhunjhunu and started this journey with different chaat experiments here. Gradually, people started liking their chaat and today this shop has been increasing the taste of people for more than seven decades.

Even at the age of 66, they serve themselves, fourth generation is also learning

While Shri Ram Chaat Bhandar was started by Dada Bijrealal Saini, it was carried forward by his son Motilal Saini. Now 66 -year -old Bhanwarlal Saini himself serves taste to customers by sitting at the shop. Now his fourth generation is also learning this family heritage. Bhanwarlal Saini told that there was a time when his grandfather used to give 16 kachori for one rupee because 16 used to come for one rupee. Today the same kachori and chaat are available for 50 rupees. He told that especially Chole Bhature, Dahi Bade, Papdi Chaat, Kanji Bade, Ghevar and Gujiya Chaat are well liked here. They themselves have been serving customers with their sweetness and taste for the last 40 years, which is why people from far and wide come to their shop.

Gujiya Chaat and Kanji Vada became a special taste of Jaipur
Every chaat of Shri Ram Chaat Bhandar is wonderful, but Gujiya Chaat and Kanji Vada have become a special identity here. Bhanwarlal Saini told that Gujiya Chaat was started by his father about 60 years ago as an experiment. People liked it so much that now this chaat has become special for tourists visiting Jaipur. Saini says that due to spices and secret flaws made by our ancestors, the taste of every chaat is as special today as it was 75 years ago. He also informed that the family tradition remains with taste on Shri Ram Chaat Bhandar and this is the reason that this shop has become a legacy of not just a business but a flavor.
