Bread slices – 4 to 6 (white or brown bread)
Butter – 2 tbsp (melted at room temperature)
Garlic – 5 to 6 cloves (finely chopped or grated)
Coriander leaves or dried oregano – 1 tsp
Chili flakes – ½ tsp (as per taste)
Cheese (optional) – 2 tbsp (mozzarella or processed cheese)
Salt – a pinch
Method of preparation
1. Prepare Garlic Butter – First of all, put melted butter in a small bowl. Now add finely chopped garlic, coriander or oregano, chili flakes and a little salt. Mix it well. This mixture will determine the real taste of your garlic bread.
2. Apply butter on bread – Now spread this garlic butter in equal quantity on each bread slice. If you want to make cheesy garlic bread, then grate some cheese on top.
3. Method of baking on pan – If you do not have an oven, heat a non-stick pan. Apply some butter on it and keep the gas on low flame. Now place the bread with the butter side upwards, cover and cook for 2-3 minutes. Then open the lid and turn it slightly to cook the other side as well. This will make the bread crispy from outside and soft from inside.
4. Method of making it in the oven – If you want to make it in the oven, then preheat the oven at 180°C. Place the bread slices in a tray and bake for 5-7 minutes. Bake until the bread becomes golden and crispy.
5. Method of serving – Cut the prepared garlic bread into small triangles or stick shapes. With this you can serve tomato sauce, mustard dip or mayonnaise.
Some tips for garlic bread
If you want the flavor of garlic to be mild, then fry the garlic in a little butter first. If you want, you can also add some basil or pizza seasoning to the garlic butter, this will further enhance its flavor. Using brown bread or multigrain bread also makes it healthy.
