Material:
For stuffing:
Boiled Potatoes – 3 Medium (Mashed)
Green Chilli – 1 (Finely chopped)
Ginger – 1 teaspoon (grated)
Green Coriander – 2 tablespoons (chopped)
Amchur powder – 1/2 teaspoon
Red chili powder – 1/2 teaspoon
Turmeric – 1/4 teaspoon
Salt – as per taste
Garam Masala – 1/4 teaspoon
For batter (solution):
Besan – 1 cup
Rice flour – 2 teaspoons (for additional crispness)
Celery – 1/2 teaspoon
Turmeric – 1/4 teaspoon
Red chili powder – 1/2 teaspoon
Salt – as per taste
Water – as required (to make solution)
Other:
Bread Slice – 6
Oil – to fry
Method of preparation:
Make stuffing:
Heat a little oil in a pan, add ginger and green chillies.
Then add mashed potatoes, all spices and green coriander. Mix well and fry for a few minutes.
Keep separate to get cold.
Make gram flour solution:
- Add gram flour, rice flour, spices and salt to a bowl.
- Gradually add water and prepare a thick but flowable solution.
- Keep it covered for 5 minutes so that gram flour swells.
Prepare bread pakoda:
- Take a bread slices, spread potato stuffing in it and make sandwiches by placing another slices on top.
- Now cut it slant.
Frying:
- Heat oil in pan.
- Dip the prepared bread sandwich in gram flour solution so that it coats completely.
- Pour it in hot oil and fry on both sides till it becomes golden and crisp.
- Remove the tissue on paper so that excess oil comes out.

- Make sure to add rice flour – pakoras become more crisp.
- The solution is not very thin – otherwise the bread will get wet and the pakoda can break.
