This not only spoils the taste of the dish but can also cause stomach related problems. If you want that your mutton dish is always perfect and does not affect your health, then it is very important to keep some things in mind while buying mutton. These tips will save you from fraudulent shopkeepers and get you fresh mutton every time. Often, to make old mutton look new in the market, color or chemicals are applied on it, due to which it becomes difficult to identify. In such a situation, you should learn to judge the freshness of mutton by its quality, aroma and color. Remember, fresh mutton is not only best in taste but is also best for health.
The color of good mutton is always light red or pink. If the color of the mutton appears to be very dark red or brown, then understand that either the mutton is old or has been kept in the open for a long time. Fresh mutton always looks slightly shiny, whereas the color of stale mutton becomes dull and dull.
2. Identify mutton by its smell

7. When buying packed or frozen mutton, check the date and packing
If you are buying packed mutton from the supermarket, then definitely check the manufacturing and expiry date. There should not be ice crystals or leakage on the packet, otherwise the quality of mutton would have deteriorated.
