- Creating healthy snacks at home is a better option.
Actually, there is no plastic in crisp. These are made from foods like maida, rice flour, corn flour and potato starch. When frying them, due to starch and oil present in them, they become black when burning and burns for a while, which can look like plastic. But this is just an illusion. Burning the crisp cannot be ascertained whether it has plastic in it. This requires scientific testing, which is possible only in the library. The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has also made it clear many times that products like crisp do not contain plastic.
It is not a difficult task to make crisp things like crisp at home. You can make an easy and crisp recipe by mixing gram flour, rice flour, rava (semolina), salt, turmeric, and some spices. If you want, instead of deep frying, you can also prepare them in the air fryer. Apart from this, snacks made of roasted gram, peanuts, makhana, oats or whole grains are also a good option which is delicious as well as healthy.
Rumors of plastic in crisp are baseless but this does not mean that you keep eating it fearlessly. Food products in packets always have some preservative or more salt-oil which can harm health in a long time. In such a situation, preparing snacks is the best option to take care of both taste and health at home. You can also include children in this, so that they will also learn to like healthy food.
