First of all wash half a cup of moong dal thoroughly and soak it in water for 3-4 hours. Grind wet dal by adding light water. Heat the native ghee in a pan and put the ground lentils in it and start frying it on low flame. While roasting the lentils, the whole house will be smelling with its fragrance. When the color of the lentils turns golden yellow and ghee starts separating, add milk and keep stirring continuously. After this, add sugar as per taste and mix well. During cooking, add cardamom powder, a little saffron and chopped fruits. Thick and soft pudding will be ready in a few minutes.
