Spice
Onion – 1 (finely chopped)
Tomato – 1 (finely chopped)
Green Chilli – 2 (chopped)
Ginger – 1 small piece (tight)
Carrots – half cup (finely chopped)
Peas – Half a cup
Capsicum – Half a cup (chopped)
Curry Leaf-7-8 leaves
Rye – half a teaspoon
Cumin – half a teaspoon
Turmeric Powder – Half a teaspoon
Red chili powder – half teaspoon
Garam Masala – Half a teaspoon
Salt – as per taste
Oil – 2 tablespoons
Water – 2 cups
Green coriander – to decorate
1. First heat oil in a pan and add semolina to it and fry it till it becomes light golden. Take out the roasted semolina in a plate.
3. After this, add onion, green chillies and ginger and fry till it becomes light golden.
5. Add turmeric, red chili powder, garam masala and salt and mix well. Then add water and let it boil lightly.
7. Cover it and cook on low heat for 3-4 minutes. Then turn off the gas.
9. Serve hot-hot masala upma with coconut chutney or curd.
