Modak Easy Recipe: Modak is made on the arrival of Ganpati Bappa, this is their main offerings. The festival of Ganesh Chaturthi is going to come now and preparations have started to welcome Bappa across the city. There is an atmosphere of decoration and devotion from pandals to homes. The most special thing about this festival is Ganpati Bappa’s dear Modak. It is believed that Bappa’s most favorite enjoyment is Modak and that is why devotees make it with full enthusiasm.

Even though modak looks difficult to appear, it is easy to make it at home. The taste of modak made of rice flour, coconut and jaggery is different. The special thing is that it is not only delicious but is also beneficial for health.

To make modak, the first stuffing has to be prepared. For this, add a little ghee in the pan and fry the coconut lightly. After this, add jaggery to it and keep cooking on low flame. When the jaggery melt and dissolves well with coconut, then add cardamom powder to it. This increases both scent and taste. After cooling for some time, this stuffing is ready for use.

Now it is the turn to knead the dough of modak. For this, boil water in a vessel and add some ghee and a pinch of salt to it. As soon as the water boils, add rice flour and mix well. Turn off the heat and keep it covered. When the dough becomes slightly cold, apply ghee in your hand and knead it soft and smooth.

Make small dough dough dough and open it like a bowl and fill the stuffing of coconut-jaggery in it. Now collect the edges and give the shape of modak. If you have a modak cam, then this work becomes easier.

It is now the turn to keep the stuffed modak in the steamer. Cook them in steam for 10 to 12 minutes. After cooking, modaks become very soft and tasty. When they are offered to Bappa by applying light ghee on top, then the joy of worship increases even more.
