If there are a lot of sweets in the house during the festival of Diwali, then it is very important to know how many sweets should be consumed and finished in how many days. Know here which sweets remain fresh for how long and which can be kept in the fridge.

A lot of sweets come home on Diwali. Children compete to eat it. But, nowadays, when there is a single family and less members, sweets are also kept for many days. Then later it is disposed of by giving it to someone or the other. If you do not want to spoil your health by eating bad sweets, then know how many days the expiry date of which sweets is. However, FSSAI has made a rule to write the expiry date of every sweet. But, be sure to know about till when you can eat sweets like Kalakand, Gulab Jamun, Rasgulla etc. received as gifts.

Sweets made from khoya like barfi, kalakand and pedas should be kept at room temperature for 2-3 days and in the refrigerator and consumed within 4-5 days. However, their taste changes after keeping them in the fridge.

Gulab Jamun and Chhena should be kept in the refrigerator with syrup and should be eaten within 5-7 days and should be eaten within 2-3 days at room temperature.

Bengali sweets Sandesh and Rasgulla should not be kept in the refrigerator, but should be eaten at room temperature within two to three days. At the same time, Rasmalai and Chamcham remain edible only for two to three days if kept in the fridge.

Milkcake sweets remain edible for 5-7 days. Instead of keeping this sweet in the fridge, it should be kept at room temperature only. Doda Barfi can also be eaten after keeping it at room temperature for 5-7 days.

Gram flour laddus do not spoil for about 15-20 days even without refrigerator. Meanwhile, Bundi laddus can be kept for 6-7 days.

Soan Papdi can be eaten comfortably for 10-15 days by keeping it away from moisture and without keeping it in the refrigerator. Its texture and taste do not deteriorate.

Kaju Katli keeps well for 10-12 days even without refrigerator and does not spoil.

FSSAI has a rule that those products made from milk which do not contain preservatives, should be kept at a temperature of 5 degrees and should be used for about 4-5 days only. Soan Papdi can be eaten comfortably for 10-15 days by keeping it away from moisture and without keeping it in the refrigerator. Its texture and taste do not deteriorate.
