Shopkeeper Nand Lal Gupta said, neither potatoes nor heavy spices are added to this samosa. Cabbage, onion and cheese are used in this. These ingredients are mixed with mild spices like cumin, turmeric, coriander powder and green chillies.
According to the shopkeeper, he prepares all the spices from home, which gives a different kind of freshness and taste to the samosas. The spices are few but aromatic, which settle on the tongue of every customer.
When people hear that this samosa is without potatoes, they are surprised. Still, every customer says that this samosa is much tastier than the traditional potato samosa. This is the reason that after tasting it once, people are forced to come here again and again.
While on one hand everything has become expensive in the market these days, on the other hand this delicious potato-free samosa is available for only Rs 10 per piece. Paneer is also used in this. The chutney of tomato, garlic, green chilli and green coriander available with it is also wonderful.
Sunil Kumar Singh, a customer who ate samosa, said, after working the whole day, I was very tired and hungry, then my eyes fell on the samosa without potatoes. When I ate it, I could not believe that there was no potato in it. Its spicy taste took away all the tiredness in no time.
According to the shopkeeper, there has been a tradition of making samosas of various flavors since his ancestors, but he himself started making samosas without potatoes four years ago. This samosa is available in Ballia district from the famous Kunwar Singh intersection on the way to SP residence, a little ahead of Vikas Bhawan.
