By the end of the 20th century, a growing premium market started developing in India for grains i.e. grain -based whiskey. In 2004, this single malt whiskey, launched in the market, changed the perception of people about Indian whiskey. Soon other Indian whiskey growers also followed it.

How is a single malt?
Single malt is a whiskey that is made only in a single distillery from malted barley. Malted barley is sprouted, then dried and later mashed and cooked. In this process, the starch in barley is converted into sugars. Which is later converted into alcohol during the firmantation process. Single malt whiskey is usually matured in oak barrels. Whiskey has an intimate relationship with oak during this process of being mature. Due to which special notes and flavors of this whiski are made. Its maturity time can be at least three years and how many years can it be. The more maturity, the higher the price.
